Choose a timed mini-mock

These original TutorSyntax assessments help you rehearse examination thinking. They are not OCR or AQA past papers, grade predictors or examiner-marked tests. Each mini-mock contains four questions worth 14 marks, including a six-mark response.

Choose a component, then start. Questions and mark guidance are all original TutorSyntax material.

Your final score is recorded in this browser only, with no account. On written questions you award marks by ticking the points your answer demonstrates. The score is indicative self-assessment and cannot be converted reliably into an examination grade.

Build good examination habits

Read the command word

‘State’ needs a concise fact, whereas ‘explain’ needs a reason and ‘evaluate’ requires a considered judgement with supporting arguments.

Use the marks

For a six-mark response, plan several distinct ideas, use accurate technical language and connect your points to the question's context.

Correct the mistakes

Record why a point was missed. Try the same skill again on a different example after a few days, rather than rereading only.
